What is print ready artwork?
22nd March 2013 by Kingfisher Press
Well, print ready artwork is just that. Imagine you are printing your document in the office – you are just about to press Print for 4000 copies.
PDF is by far the best way to supply your document for print, however bigger projects can be supplied with all associated images, files and fonts in a zipped or stuffed folder and we will create a PDF and whizz back to you for approval.
Your PDF needs to be at least 300 dpi and set up in CMYK.
Please add 5mm bleed to allow for any images which extend off the page.
There should be no links to images or fonts – all should be embedded.
Make sure it is the final version and there are no tweaks or corrections.
Word processing programmes such as word often don’t allow you to add bleed – contact us if you need advice – we are here to help.
If you are using Quark or Adobe Creative Suite we have a set of preferred settings for PDF export – click here to visit our website and download those settings….
We work with a selection of experienced artworks and if you feel you need someone to set up your project – just drop us an email and we will put you in touch.
