Paul - Director (VCF)

Paul

Paul co-founded Kingfisher Press in 1991, and has overseen the company's growth into a mature, dynamic and successful print company. Recognising that staff are the key to the success of any business, he defines his role as team manager rather than boss and runs the company accordingly.

A great champion of customer service, Paul ensures this principle is applied to all aspects of the business, saying 'Everybody here understands that our clients are everything and everyone is prepared, and wants, to go that extra mile every day'.

Jon - Director

Jon

Jon joined Kingfisher Press in 1992 as a machine minder and became co-director in 2003. He splits his time between running the litho and digital presses and managing the factory floor - giving Kingfisher Press the edge when it comes to production planning and management. 'With Paul in the office, the two most important areas of the business are overseen by a director at all times and that ensures continuity of service. If there is an issue with a job no matter how small - we know in a moment and can resolve it immediately.'

Paul Midforth - Business Development Manager

Paul Midforth

Paul has a wide range of experience in print. Having worked for a local print firm for over 20 years, Paul knows the business inside out and upside down and will be a valuable addition to our hardworking and conscientious team.

Pauls background is print production, estimating and client management and Paul will be working with the sales team in a Business development role. Pauls experience in production, estimating and sales gives an excellent all round knowledge and ensures understanding of every aspect of the print process.

Graham - Account Manager (VCF)

Graham

Because Graham's print career started in a small, single colour printers and then progressed to a respected five-colour printer with a £2 million turnover, he really does know the business inside out.

Working with design agencies, insurance firms, retail and pharmaceutical companies along with businesses both locally and nationally, Graham's knowledge gives Kingfisher clients great confidence.

Jon Barker - Account Manager (VCF)

Jon

Jon started in print as an estimator, which gave him a sound knowledge of all the print processes. From initial set up and repro through to finishing Jon's clients find his experience and insight invaluable.

'The reason our customer loyalty is so high is that we concentrate on service with a focus on client support and management. At Kingfisher we still feel that the customer comes first - a concept sadly missing in many industries and businesses.'

Graham Gould - Production Manager

Graham has worked in print for over 30 years, so when we say we know what we are talking about, we really do have a wealth of experience here at Kingfisher!

Beginning as a machine minder, Graham has a full understanding of the physical process of printing.

Having spent 15 years running presses Graham moved into the role of production manager. Now, 15 years later and Graham is responsible for the production of all print at Kingfisher Press.

Managing projects on a daily basis is hectic and with 4 printing machines and over 7 different in-house finishing departments plus deliveries, it’s no easy task.

Providing a smooth transition from booking-in through to delivering to clients, it all falls to Graham to ensure everything is on track at all times.

Richard - Studio Manager (VCF)

Richard

Having served as our Production Manager since 2001, Richard took on a new role in February 2014 to utilise his hands on experience in reprographics and digital print. Now acting as Studio Manager, his new title doesn’t give much clue to the broadness of his remit.

Richard has responsibility not only for the “traditional” reprographics side of the business, but also the digital departments. Where necessary his hands on approach continues, not just in the studio but also small and large format digital print, be it our Xerox 8080 digital press or our Jetrix and Mimaki wide format machines.

One of his key aims is to make sure his colleagues can perform their roles untroubled by the small but necessary distractions that might previously have disrupted their working days.

“It’s important for me to take care of the details – getting everything in place so my colleagues don’t have to. They can all then concentrate on what they do best. Some things in isolation might seem insignificant, but when you add lots of little things together you realise there are significant gains to be made by taking care of them, both in terms of efficiency and productivity”.

Wayne - Studio & Artwork Operator

Wayne studied Graphic Design at Ipswich Art College, joined Kingfisher Press in 1997 as a colour planner, and is now Kingfisher's all-round Mac and system guru, managing the uploading of artwork from our FTP on-line system, proofing and generally making sure the journey from proof to press is as smooth as possible.

Skilled in all the major software from Quark Xpress, Photoshop and Illustrator to Acrobat and Indesign he's also fully trained on our Docucolor 5000 digital printing press.

Nina - Marketing Manager (VCF)

Nina

Having worked in the design industry for many years, Nina has a solid background in both print and design and a thorough understanding of how the process works. This, alongside her own experience as a print buyer, means she knows the pressures clients are under - and the real importance of deadlines.

'The advent of digital presses offering short run and variable data print has opened new markets to us - as has the web. And as more and more clients buy print on line, search engines, SEO, analytics and web directories are becoming increasingly important to our marketing - but the moment you get an enquiry it makes all that hard work worthwhile!'

Chris Hart – Estimator and Customer Service

Throughout his many years of experience in the printing trade, primarily in his role of estimator and customer service, Chris has managed to maintain his enthusiasm and passion for the job, and now brings his infectious positivity to the Kingfisher sales office where as part of the team, his varied knowledge and experience gained will only serve to enhance the formidable line up already in place.

Chris commented: 'Really looking forward to being part of the future of Kingfisher Press being able to offer customers and clients the diverse range of printing solutions now available in house.'

Chris Mead – Large Format and Digital Print Guru

Chris has worked within the world of wide format print for over 8 years now. Straight out of school he landed a job working at a local printer and completed a college course in Graphic Design. Since then he has expanded his knowledge of all things wide format making him the Kingfisher Press King of wide format!

Chris successfully operates the Mimaki and Jetrix large format printers, the wide format laminator, he can put together roll up, pull up and A-Frame banners, canvas prints, boxes, boards and even desks, in fact – there isn’t much Chris can't put together – and if there is something new – he just loves a challenge!!
